This landmark mansion has been built in 1896 as a residence for the General Manager of Kigombe Sisal Estate - one of the very first Sisal Estates in Tanzania. Following a painstaking 3 years’ restoration work the mansion could be opened to the public at the end of 2012.

The Kingfisher Lodge forms the heart of what is about to become an exiting beach resort development which, located some 20 miles south of Tanga , is comprised of an uninterrupted Indian Ocean beach frontage of an awesome 5 miles. The overall area is little over 1000 acres. All this land has been excised from our former Kigombe Sisal Estate and been taken over by Amboni Beach Ltd, the company created for the purpose of serving as a platform for the entire new venture.
